UVB Guidlines

Please read the UVB Info page and if in any doubt consult your G.P. before starting any treatment.

The UVB unit is one sided therefore if you wish both front and back exposed you will need to double the time required.

Leave a minimum of 24 hours between sessions.

If you feel sore after a session reduce your usage times or miss your next treatment.

Never exceed the recommended usage times.

Always cover genital areas if treating the whole body.

Do not use if under 18 years of age unless recommended by your G.P. a letter will be required.

Do not use if you are in an advanced state of pregnancy, taking tranquillisers, anti-depressants or antibiotics, suffer from high or low blood pressure, heart or circulation disorders, epilepsy, diabetes or any other condition which may result in sensitivity to UVB light or heat.  If in any doubt consult your G.P. prior to use.

Remove any medical creams or cosmetics applied to the skin, if you wish the UVB treatment in conjunction with any other creams or moisturisers then always apply the creams after the light therapy.

Remove all jewellery prior to treatment.

Treatment times :

The times below are meant as a guideline as there are many variables such as skin type, skin ailment etc. Build up your session times gradually, it is better to err on the side of caution rather than burn yourself during your first few sessions.  Remember the UVB narrowband tubes are very powerful.

Rough Guide :

Fair skin 15 seconds to 3 minutes.

Medium skin 20 seconds to 3 or 4 minutes maximum.

Dark skin 30 seconds to 3 or 4 minutes maximum.
