Opened in 1997 our safe, clean swimming pool measures 20m x 8.5m. The water depth is 0.9m, graduating to maximum depth of 1.5m in the deepest part of the pool.
You do not need to book a swim, please see timetable before calling.
We pride ourselves on the high standard of our water quality and the cleanliness of the whole facility. We are very much a family pool and love to encourage youngsters, but please note our adult/child swimming ratios. All children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and the following ratios apply
1 adult for 1 child aged 3 years and under.
1 adult for 2 children aged 4 to 7 years old.
Over 8 year olds may use the pool unaccompanied.
These ratios apply to all sessions unless otherwise stated.
Please note:
Lifeguards cannot replace the care and attention of a responsible adult.
Responsible adults must remain in close proximity/contact with their children and ensure they are closely supervised at all times.
Responsible adults must keep their children who are non-swimmers or weak swimmers within the shallow end of the pool.
We run at a temperature of 29°C most days and heat the water to 30°C on Sundays (excluding July & August) for Family time, this is better for younger kids.
During term time we have Saturday Super-Saver Prices for swimming. The price for adults & seniors is £3.00. The price for under 18 year olds is £1.50.
Facilities
As well as the pool we have a gym and fitness suite. These facilities are available during pool opening hours and a spectator area with self service tea and coffee facilties.
Buy or Hire Equipment
Anything you could possibly need for a swim! Swimming costumes, goggles, arm bands, baby rings and towels. It is also possible to purchase swim-nappies for small children and toiletries.
Special Sessions
To ensure that all our customers are able to enjoy their swim in the way they most prefer, we have sessions which are designated for specific groups of people. These are all shown on the timetable and include; Aquacise, Hydrohex, Funtime, Over 50s and Family Time. Additional sessions are run during school holidays. When one session runs into another we ask that users exit the water at least 10 minutes before the changeover, please allow for this.
Access
There is designated parking for wheelchair users and ramps with handrails at the entrance. We have changing/shower facilities with access straight onto the poolside. These are equipped with an adjustable height shower bed, and ceiling hoist. For people who have difficulty with steps, a poolside hoist is available to safely lift swimmers in and out of the water.

Pool staff & volunteers
The Pool has a small team of full-time staff who do a fantastic job of running the facilities on a daily basis, as well as making customers feel welcome and providing the best assistance possible. The permanent staff are assisted by volunteers without whom we could not manage.
If you have a couple of hours a week to spare and would like to find out more about volunteering, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Why not team up with a friend and volunteer together.
